Support the Displaced Families in Sudan With Your Zakat

Your Zakat is meant for the fuqara and masakin – people who can’t provide for themselves. That’s 14 million people in Sudan right now,  living in camps with no income, no savings, and no way to buy food.

Famine has been confirmed in many regions. Children are malnourished.

Mothers are trying to fast while their children need food they don’t have.

People are drinking unsafe water because clean water costs money they don’t have.

This isn’t a temporary hardship. For many, this is year two of displacement with no end in sight.

Your Zakat funds programs already operating in Sudan:

45+ central kitchens serving daily meals in displacement camps where families have no other food source.

Emergency water operations providing clean water to 28,000+ people with zero access.

Food distributions delivering Ramadan packages, Zakat Al-Fitr, and Udhiya meat to verified families across Sudan.

We verify every recipient. They’re displaced, destitute, or in crisis, the exact categories Zakat is meant for.

We can’t reach all 14 million. But your Zakat reaches the tens of thousands in dire need.

Give in the holiest month, multiply your blessings tenfold.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know my Zakat is going to eligible recipients?

All our programs serve displaced people, orphans, and those in extreme poverty, categories explicitly eligible in Islamic law. Every recipient is verified as meeting Zakat criteria before distribution.

Anytime in Ramadan. Many people choose these days because giving is easier—and the reward is multiplied.

Currently, all our operations are in Sudan. If you want to support work in other countries, use our general donation option instead.

Use our calculator, or consult with your local imam or Islamic scholar. You can also give an estimated amount now and adjust later. Overpaying Zakat counts as sadaqah.

Yes. Sadagaat Canada is a CRA-registered charity (796085744 RR 0001) operating Zakat-eligible relief programs. Our field teams verify recipients and maintain documentation.

Yes. During checkout, you can allocate percentages to specific programs (e.g., 50% food, 50% water).

You can give in installments throughout Ramadan or in one payment; both are valid. Just make sure your total Zakat obligation is fulfilled by the end of your Islamic year.

Immediately. Our central kitchens and water operations are already running. Your Zakat goes directly into active programs serving displaced families today, not months from now.

Both fund the same programs. Zakat must go to specific eligible categories (which all our Sudan recipients meet). Sadaqah has no such restrictions.

Yes, if you’re giving on behalf of a minor child or someone who has authorized you. Parents often calculate and give Zakat for their children. If giving for an adult, make sure you have their permission and use their calculated amount, not yours.
